Sweethearts 5K 2010

What a fun run even though my body was far from peak it was fun to be with my running partner again. This was the first race I had ever done and did it with my mom last year. So it was fun to look back and reflect upon all the acomplishments we have done in the last year.

Last year it was all I could do to get there on time. This year I was up at 5am did a 1 hour swim and a GPP workout before the run.

I'm so proud of my mom she has had so much sucess in the last year. Its so wonderful to see her happiness!

I just love Rob and his family. They are such great examples. I can't wait for the Epic again this year. Hopefuly Angie will join the train.

Miami Marathon

Jodie and I hoped on a plane from SLC to LGB where we then got onto another plane to FLL. Aside from the creepy guy who wanted to buy my jacket off me and Jodie leaving her laptop on the first fight getting there wasn't to bad. We arrived about 5am. We got in a cab and headed to South Beach in hopes to check into our hotel early we only were just about killed 3 times by the driver that all..An hour to get a rental car and we were on our way. We hadn't had any sleep all night so we needed somehwere to crash. There was no way our room would be ready until 11am. We headed a few streets over to the beech to watch the sun rise and decide what to do...Luckly my great friend Dane let us come bombard his bed at 5am. Poor guy gets a text to let these crazy girls in his room. Jodie and I crashed for several hours.

We got up and got ready to hit the beach to realize it was way to windy and cold...So next best thing we headed out shopping. Later that night we headed back to the airport to pick up Julie and Suz..We are ready for our weekend in MIAMI!

Someone gave us these and I was so thankful we used them for the first mile to get warm.

Julie and I broken as ever but finished our 2nd marathon together.

Our gate was the last one in the terminal so we shuffled down to it only to get told the gate had been moved to one of the first. Once the plane was loaded we sat on the runway for about 45min. with plane problems.

We arrived in Dallas which was our connection to see our place on the runway taking off..After a few hour we finally got on a flight. We were so ready to get home. Such a terrible trip was one of the best trips ever.

St. George Training Ride

I was so lucky to go to St. George and ride with others who area amazing riders. I have a long way to go. One thing I learned though is a true athlete is selfless. It was such an incredible experience. I am so grateful for great friend/coaches Chris, Moka, and Wes truly amazing people.

56 mile bike ride rocked my world even if Chris literally pushed me for 30+ miles. We needed some food and let me tell you we ate a lot of food. Wes called his cute sister to join us. Boys she is single and supper cute!

Cristmas to New Years 2011

We were invited to spend four days at a friends cabin between Christmas and New years. It was so much fun. There was one to many kids but we partied all day and night.

When we walked into the house this is what we saw. We knew the week would be a treat!

Bronson spent most the week here doing what he does best. EATING!

Its been so fun to make new friends at the gym. We had a GNO at Flemmings and traded gift cards it was a great night to get to know people and see what they look like in real clothes.

It all started a 365 days ago...

Everyone knows I have always enjoyed exercise it was just something I did 4-5 days a week for an hour. 95% of the time it was just cardio I would brave the weights for a few min. some days.

When I was pregnant with Bronson I worked out everyday, even the day I had him (I was trying really hard to have him. He was a week overdue)

When he was 2 weeks old I went back to the gym 3 days a week and new I needed more.. Not only for my sanity but HELLO I just had my 3^rd baby. I know how hard it was to get back to “normal” with my other two, number three would be just as hard if not harder.

There was a “gym” that was offering the entire month free so I thought I would give it a go for the last two weeks of December. I knew I needed to take it easy seeing as baby was 4 weeks old now. The first day I went part of the workout was a 400 meter run. I don’t remember the rest. I do remember I could not run around the entire building without having to walk. Sad I know, its only 400 meters. I thought If I just keep going maybe one day I can do it.

I could already see changes after only four week but the scale wasn’t moving. I was starting to get frustrated nobody will help a woman with a diet if they are breastfeeding a baby. I finally gave in and talked to Neil about my frustrations he was able to help me figure out what would work best for me in my situation. Neil then encouraged me to do a before picture and measurements the scale doesn’t always tell us what we want to see. A picture 6 weeks postpartum is not pretty, but I wanted to see where I started.

Neil and Lizz offered a class on how to use this program with success. Two thing they said that stuck with me was to “challenge yourself once a year, and you need to be here 5 days a week”. Seeing as Its all or nothing with me I was there 6 days a week for the most part and signed up for a 5K. I have never been able to run and now I could make it through the 400 meter runs and not walk. So me being the insecure person I was I couldn’t do this alone. So being the good mother I have she said she would do it with me. I went and registered us before she could change her mind. Together we successfully completed our first 5k together. What an accomplishment it was for me and to have my mom by my side seeing all the trials she had been through physically the last few years.

A few months later Neil and Lizz again offered a class on Triathlons. I decided to go because mother was more interested and Whitney was going to be there. Again the challenge was put there to “try something new” we decided to sign up for the Rec. center triathlon. Can I mention I have no clue how to swim. I have almost drowned my mother twice because I panicked. I did a few swim classes with Lizz who no joke had to teach me to blow bubbles. We all have to start somewhere. Whitney, mother and I all completed our first triathlon. I even took third in my age group. I know it was a novice you can jump farther than the swim, but it was huge to me to not only finish but to do it with mother and Whitney.

Since then I have done 3 sprint triathlons one of which was Lake Powell where mother and I both placed 3^rd in our age groups.

I also was able to participate in 2 relay runs this summer the first was EPIC from Logan to Jackson and the second was RED ROCK Brian Head to Zions. What an amazing thing to be a part of.

Thinking back on all the things I did for the year I thought I had completed my challenge for the year. I was ready to be done. Until I found out a friend was running the Mesquite Marathon. I thought I ran epic. I had continued to add to my mileage every few weeks. If she can do it so can I. So 4 weeks before I registered. Thanks to the amazing training plan of Lizz not only was I able to train for a marathon in 4 weeks and not take anytime away from my family. I was able to finish a marathon PAIN free with only four weeks of training.

The longest distance race (excluding relays) I had done was a 5k. Unless you consider the Dirty Dash 10K

People are always asking where I work out. When they say they have tried it and its not for them it makes me think what wasn’t for them. Not only have I changed physically but mentally it has taught me so much about who I am. If it wasn’t for this great community of fitness I would have never meet some truly amazing people. I am fortunate to have meet a friend who not only is an incredible athlete but had taught me how to be positive an believe in myself. If it wasn’t for the great community at GPP I would have never know how much that opportunity changed my life.

I was able to do the Turkey day 10K with my bestie running partner ever. It was only 5 days after my marathon so I was a bit worried but everything went great. Not super fast, but I did it.

TRI STATE Marathon

4 weeks ago my friend registered for a marathon. I had done all the same races she did this summer and a few more. So I thought if she can do it I can do it. right?! Several people said I was crazy which made me want to do it more. Others were very supportive. So I decided the first step was to register, the second was to figure out a training plan. Thanks to Liz she had a plan of action right away. My goal was to finish. I had only done a few relays and the longest distance in a single run I had ever done was 8 miles. How in the world would I be able to run 18.2 more. It was now or never for me. I had come such a long ways with my running. The first run I ever did was the rec. center 5k for Valentines Day. I decided I would just stay with my moms pace because I had no Idea if I could even make it 3.1 miles..We made it about a 1.5 and I thought I was going to die, but we finished. What am I thinking I am going to run a marathon?!

As the days went by I begun to think I could actually do this. I was so lucky to have such great friends that would do my short runs during the week with me, or meet me half way on my long runs. Pick me up from my own run to meet for a group run and so much more.

Julie picked me up Friday afternoon and we set off on our trek to Mesquite.The entire way down we asked ourselves, "What are we thinking?"

First thing is first. We went and picked up our packets and meet in person for the first time an amazing friend who we had met on Facebook. A dear friend introduced us to him. I didn't know much about him other than he was running the half and wrote a book. So I bought the book to see what I could learn.

We checked into our hotel and carried all of Julies' bags into the room she may have brought more than one.

To find that our room had an awesome light that came through the window and shone right on my bed perfectly.

Julies' sweet hubby Roger was working in Vegas so he drove up to take us to dinner. We went to a tasty pizza place. They had amazing garlic knots...mmmm... We then headed to Walmart to grab some food for the run. Neither of us are keen on the Gu's or energy things so we wanted to stick with what we were used to.

We wanted to turn in early we were so nervous. I was out for the count and poor Julie couldn't sleep
We got on the bus about 5:30am and we were freaking out to say the least! Once the race started we were ready to go. I just decided since my training was short I would do this race to just finish.

5miles in it started to sprinkle I thought I can handle this...

This is where I wasn't sure what would happen next. I had never ran more than 15 miles in training so I wasn't sure what would happen then next 11...

At this point only 8 more miles to go we had encountered the last 8 miles of a ridiculous head wind that would push you back up hill when running down. It was all I could do to just keep going. There were times I would laugh out loud thinking, "seriously is this ever going to end"

We finished! What a great experience to have and to do it with such a great friend.

We jumped right in the car and headed to Vegas where we would spend the rest of the weekend.

We spent the next two hours sitting here. Then got ready and headed out for a night on the town. Shopping at H&M and Dinner at my favorite place Claim Jumper. We headed back to the hotel to watch a movie we were out cold by 10pm.

We headed home the next morning, I couldn't wait to see my my family. Luckily we got left early enough because they ended up closing the freeway because of a bad snow storm.

Halloween is my favorite time of year we got the kids all dressed in there Halloween t-shirts and headed out to Gardner Village with friends for family night. We ate at Archibald’s for dinner 6 adults and 8 kids 8 and under was quite the sight. We had fun looking at the witches the kids were so excited to find “witchy poo” What a great night!

I love Halloween more than almost any other holiday. I love that everyone at the gym dressed up it was so fun. i decided that I wanted to dress up as a swimmer. Seeing as I was not about to show up in my suit I improvised..Karen is taking pilot lessons so she dressed accordingly, and Carly is a dancer for life. It seems as if we all dressed up as what we want to be when we grow up..

We headed out to main street and colonial square to start out our trick-or-treating. I was so glad we decided to do this because as we hit the last spot the storm decided to roll in. We headed home for Chilli and and movie.. I even got nick to dress up this year..

Lake Powell

This was my boys first trip of Lake Powell we took the boat out once the storm cleared out a little. They loved it. Bronson screamed for the first hour until he fell asleep once he woke up he couldn't get enough of it.

Lake Powell Tri

Yep I did it I signed up for an open water swim. Lots of practice (not enough I would soon find out).

We headed to Lehi Thursday night to pick up our packets. I was starting to get really nervous we were heading out first thing in the morning.
Friday night we went and did body marking. I'm pretty sure they only do it to identify the body. Then it was off to bed we had to get up early.

We headed down to the transition area about 6 and got all set up.

Went back to the motor home to be greeted by my cheering crowd!

Picked up our chips and headed down the dock to get ready for the first wave to go.

The weather was beautiful until about 30 min. before the first wave. I was excited to watch as I new one of the strongest swimmers there was Wes. who had helped me at an open water clinic they gym put on. Sure enough Wes was the first one out of the water. Those Gpp knows how to preform.

As it was our turn I was ready
to lose breakfast. I was freaking out! the gun went off and off we went..Well I didn't get to far before I had a panic attack. Okay I suck and swimming and now I am on the verge of tears I was freaking out. I actually got out of the water collected my thoughts for what was about 5min. I swear it was 20 but my swim time would agree;)
As I got back In I was much better. As long as I wasn't the last one out of the water I knew I would be okay. Well I wasn't I was just the third to last.

After the lovley 1/4 mile run up the boat ramp. Those things are steep! I know I needed to get my butt going seeing as I was not going to be the last to finish that was my only goal in mind. Into T1 I go. By this point it is a down poor...Remember how i don't like to be cold..I was getting worried maybe I got in over my head with this. Off I went. The bike route was fantastic it went up to the Dam and looped around. I need to work on feeling comfortable going downhill I feel like a little kid riding by breaks over a little bump.
The bike was great but it was cold. One of the volunteers actually asked if I was okay. He said, "most people aren't okay when they are purple". I just laughed and finished.

T2 not that I am a good runner but this is probably where I was the strongest today. It took me about half the bike ride to get the swim out my head.

Did I mention it was STILL raining! I could see a pink jacket close ahead and though it was mother. I knew it would take me a second to catch up but I could. So at mile 2 I caught up to only see mother passing me in the other lane she just hit the turn around..GRR.. I just gave it everything to catch up and she still was 400m. in front of me. There was no way I was going to catch her so I just gave it what I could to finish.

I have never dislike something so much but loved it so much. You would think it would test your body physically which it did a little. Honestly I never thought something like this could test you mentally so much!

We headed over to the food. I'm always up for food. As they were announcing awards. I was thinking they should have an award for last place. About a min. later I hear my name being announced as third place for my age group. Awesome there were only three people enterend that all it took to take third.. I was thrilled to find out there were more than three.

Black Island Farms

Black Island Farms is so much fun and we got to go there for Rykers field trip for Mrs. Kari’s. We had so much fun, it was a long and tiring day but its so amazing to watch your kids learn. Another fun part of the day was that all the preschool classes were combined so we got to have miss. Addy there...I know they are only 3 but come on. Are they not meant for each other?!

Ryker played his last soccer game of the season. He did really well for his first season playing. He was a good sport and scored lots of goals. He scored the last goal of the season for his team. He also scored the last goal of the season for the other team as well.

We cannot wait until spring to start paying again!

Happy Eight years!! I can’t believe its been eight years already! Where does time go. I know 3 kids, work, stores and life. We are crazy busy but we have been enjoying it. Hopefully the end of the year we will get to sneak away to celebrate. Right now is to busy to get away. Last night we were going to get a sitter and go out. Being the boring couple we are we went and got shrimp and lobster from Costco and went home and made dinner.

Dirty Dash

Girls Night Out for The Dirty Dash. Lauren and I headed out shopping about 3pm to find the perfect Dirty Dash outfit. When all was said we spent 6 hours and $15 buck on our sweet get ups, went and got pedicures then headed to TRIO for dinner. It was so nice to relax, talk and have nothing to worry about. We then continued on up to Midway to check into our hotel. Zermott was a cute little resort to stay at. We got all settled in our room and realized we didn’t have any tooth paste we hoped in the car are headed into town. The first gas station didn’t have any but they had caramel popcorn that looked to die for…We drove to the other gas station across the street they had what we were looking for but no awesome Carmel popcorn. So we got our toothpaste and headed back to get the yummy popcorn. Did I mention this was 10:45pm. We got back to our hotel ate our popcorn while watching Legally Blonde. We couldn’t be up to late we had a race to RUN!

We were rip roaring ready to go until we realized how COLD it was. 6.2 mile mud run here we come. We were able to run with the Devil she was pretty cute. Aren’t our outfits cute. These two guys are awesome they are the ones that put the whole event together. There were different obstacles along the way. The first one at mile 1 wasn’t an obstacle but it was cold, they had snow machines on…BURRR!! The first real one was 4 ft. hay bails you had to jump over those suckers were huge there were about 6 different sets to get over. Mile 2 was black tunnels to crawl in. There were 3 different ones about 20 ft. long. Mile 3 was where it got fun. They had a fire hose spraying the climb walls they were 5, or 7 ft. walls to climb over. We were in it for all so big walls here we come…There was about 6 inches of mud you would sink in to get your feet out to get over the wall was rough… Mile 4 was tire runs easy as pie. Mile 5 was the surprise obstacle curtsey of Soldier Hollow and deer creek. The trail ran along the shore line, this time of year is about a foot of swampy nasty stagnant mud…You couldn’t get through it fast enough. Mile 6 was the worlds largest slip in slide…Note to self if you have been running in mud there are little rocks that are watered down so when you jump down a slide like that don’t go head and arms first it will hurt. The finish line was a huge mud pit. You had to go under the flags no exceptions. We were cute as could be our hubby’s drove up to meet us at the finish. They had showers that I guess were freezing so we hoped in the car and headed to the hotel to get showered. As we were walking out a guy from Salt lake running company was there collecting shoes to donate. They were dirty but still could be put to good use so we left our there along with our socks in the garbage. We got showered and ready for the day and headed back into town for lunch. We found a cute pizza place to eat and then headed home. It was a nice break but fun to be with Nick and Friends.

Boulton Elementary had a 5K for the school fundraiser this year. We were excited our whole family was going to participate. Kennadee was there for the fashion show and friends,

Ryker was there to run he was thrilled.

I was there to run with two of my favorite people

Nick was there to run while pushing Bronson.

Justin and nick kept all the kids running with them so us girls could actually run it. It was really fun to have people to run with. Normally I run alone so it was a fun change.

28:38 was my time. Not my best but it was fun. I placed 1^st in my age group. Hey I know half the other moms were pushing a stroller but 1^st is 1^st….

Nick finished about 10 min. later with a wheel missing and 3 kids crying. I guess about a mile in the kids got tired so there were 5 kids in the stroller Ryker lasted about 2 miles on foot then got in the stroller there are 6 kids in a two child running stroller. Rounding the corner by Dicks market. The front wheel decided it wasn’t going to hold that many kids anymore. They all came to a dead stop. A few scrapes and tears they decided to just finish. Justin carried alee and Sophia while Kenn walked. Nick finished pushing the little ones in the stroller. Lets just say as these poor dads crossed the finish line it was a sight. They are such good sports.

Lobor Day Triathalon

I have been looking forward to this from the day I finished my triathlon in June. I love a little self competition and luckily I have my mom there that I can look to that keeps me going. I was excited to see if I could beet my time of 1:36:10 to see if I had made any improvements.

I am so proud of my mom she is amazing. She had really taken to not only hard core workouts but to come do these with me.

Last time we waited until everyone went because we were worried about our swim, this is what I struggle with most. So mom started about 7 minutes before I did. She was awesome and just kept right up with those in her time slot. I love being at the finish line to cheer her on those last few steps. I hope that in 20 years I am still doing triathlons like she is. This time it was different to have her there cheering me on at the finish since she started before me it was so fun! Plus we got a tape measure for all of our “labors” for finishing. We went over to see our results my mom’s was posted but my time wasn’t yet. We waited and waited still no time. We went to go load our stuff up and though we would come back once we got everything in the car to see if my time was up. We start walking out and they were announcing the winners for moms age group.

As if she didn’t already amaze me. 1^st place that is incredible! I love that her prize was a hammer perfectly fitting for mother.

I finally got my time of 1:25:02 Yeah for improvement the work I have been doing has paid off.

Nick started a new job a few weeks ago and loves it. He is working for the packaging company California Packaging. He is working in a division of the company Western agriculture supply. There is a conference every September in Sun Valley, Idaho that Nick was invited to attend to get the word out about his company. His boss was so kind he told nick the kids and I could go up with him…Sadly Kennadee had just started school last week so she got to stay home with Grandma and Grandpa and a lot of help from Nikki. She was thrilled, we were just sad she couldn’t come.

We left at 5 am. Wow that’s early when you go to bed at 2:30am and headed to Sun Valley. Nick had to be there by 9am. Nick headed off to meetings and the boys and I got checked into our hotel. As we went exploring we were able to find a great restaurant in which we would be eating at all three meals a day and some fun stores (Ryker’s favorite was the confectioners store)

There were swans right in front of our hotel that had signs not to get close. Ryker didn’t care he wanted to push his luck.

We decided one night to go on a run through Sun Valley it was beautiful the weather was great and the boys loved the stroller. Every day I took the boys on a walk, or a bike ride it’s such a perfect place to do it at. We ate at the same restaurant everyday. They had a patio where you could watch people ice skating. They have shows every Friday and Saturday night. Thurdsay they had the ice rink closed I was kind of disappointed we really enjoyed watching the skaters. What we didn’t know was that they closed it because Sahsha Choen an incredible US Olympic figure skater was going to be practicing in a few min. We sat and watched for about an hour. What a talent that girl has.

The last day we were there the host put on a lunch for all the wives. They had an incredible guest speaker at the age of 10 he was burned over 97% of his body. His spirit is truly amazing as he tells his journey of recovery. Most of us ask “why me” he helps us to think of “why not me”.

Nick was in heaven he was able to meet several potential clients while clay pigeon shooting ,and golfing. Golfing is something I quite don’t understand it took them 6 hours to golf 18 holes. Granted there was a catered lunch half way through but holly cow that’s a long time. There was also a horse shoe game they had by a little pond that we walked with Nick too they needed more players so I was able to play Everyone loved playing with the boys when it was my turn. Ryker and Bronson even found a new “grandma” I though she was going to take them home with her.

I am excited to see this new adventure of nicks work to see where it takes us. We are so lucky to

All my big girl wanted for her birthday was a barbie house. Every time I asked about a party she didn't care she just wanted the house. So I planned a party at flips for family and friends. I cannot believe how fast time goes my baby is 7 already. She did finally tell me she wanted the catipiller bake from Costco. This girl kills me at times she can be so easy to please!!

We love it when we have a reason to go to Idaho and see Nick’s family. It was great when we had a chance to go there for Kira’s wedding.

When we got to Idaho we were able to go to Donna and Jim’s house to let the kids hang out… Donna and her friend were still making the wedding cake. I cannot believe they would try and make it themselves they did a great job so now I know why…They weren’t sure how to do the flowers on it so I tried to help. They decided I could just do it, I wasn't to sure about that idea but the bride liked it so that’s all that mattered to me..

The wedding was at a beautiful winery in Buhl. It was a perfect day for the couple. They kids loved playing with their other family they don’t see to often. It was great for us to catch up with all nicks cousins..

Soccer Camp

Ryker is finally only enough to play soccer he has been waiting forever to start his own thing he gets so sad that Kennadee gets to go to dance all the time..

Woods Cross girls soccer team put on a 3 hour camp where Rkyer and Daxton got to go show off their skills on the field.

I was surprised to see how well Ryker was doing he was so proud he could take the ball down field and turn it around. Watch out Beckham! Dax and Ryker are on the field now!

EPIC Logan to Jackson Hole

Most people can't say the first time they have ever been to Jackson they ran there. Well now I can...kind of.. My cute friend Julie from the gym asked me to be part of her team. I was very hesitant this girl is a rock star and I had never ran a mile with out having to walk until January. So once I committed I thought I better get my butt in gear. We met at the Smith in Farmington on Friday the 13th at 5am..Wow that was really early for me.

We headed up to Logan to be there by our 7am start time. We go the car loaded decorated and we were on our way. I may have not been the fastest but I felt like I did really well for what I could do. I would recommend everyone doing something like this at some point it is amazing what you learn about yourself and how well you get to know others.

Run #1 was quick and easy

Once our van had finished all of our first runs our van 2 took over so we rested at the school in Grace Idaho we stopped and ate lunch at a little place that was tasty.

Then went and took a nap on the lawn of the school. We redecorated our car...bigger is better. Once van two was done we were off again.

Run #2 True Epic beauty running along the river as the sun went down it was a little over 5 miles but was steady.

I was able to keep my pace around 9:30 which was my goal. I was very pleased. We finished out the rest of our van pretty quickly. It was amazing at 11pm there was no moon in sight and a million meteor showers it was amazing to experience.

Run #3 Words can't explain I am just happy its over with..It started about 4 hours later than expected....I will just leave it at that.

We found an amazing Mexican joint that really hit the spot after our van had finished all three legs were finished as we waited for Van #2

I was able to help one of our runners with her last leg she wasn't feeling very well and wasn't going to run until the last second so I stayed with her to help her keep going.

This had made me realize I can't wait for the Red Rock Relay in a month. It will be even better. Even if you are the last team to finish and cheated a little. It still was worth it.

EPIC training

So I Haven been training for the Epic run from Logan to Jackson for the last few months. Two weeks before the race I wanted to run 3 times in 24 hours to make sure I was ready. So on my second run I had to take the kids....Let me tell you that was fun.. The kids were so excited to on my run with me so they could ride their bikes. We got about a half a mile and they wanted to rest I knew this was going to take a while.....By the time we finished the 4 miles on Legacy I felt like Bronson looked.

Bountiful Hardcart Days Parade

As usual we did the parade this year we did things a little different. We used the store chairs and the kids were able to ride in them. The best part is we had over 5,000 otter pops to toss out....From the sounds of it they were the hit of the parade.

Thanks Linclon for all your Help this year on the parades. I couldn't have never made it happen with out his work. What are big brothers for right?! Bronson got the best in the house right in the air conditioned truck

Park City Dance Attack

Kennadee had a 3 day dance camp in Park City where she was able to participate in 3 9hour days of dance...That equals Kennadee's HEAVEN. Dance Attack was held at the Yarrow they brought in choreographers from all over several were from the show So You Think You Can Dance which kennadee loves to watch so she was so excited to see Miss. Dana and Will I was lucky enough to have an awesome friend Lauren who hooked us up with a beautiful room at Hotel Park City. Ryker loved it because him and his friend Daxton could play in the hot tub as long as they liked. Our room was right by the little lake on the golf course that had ducks so the boys loved to feed them at watch them swim around.

I was able to go run one morning Park City has an awesome running trail that goes up to main street from our hotel it was so relaxing to go running with no one and nothing around.

The last night we were there Nick and Casey came op so we could go to the Alpine Slide and Coaster as families. Well almost we were so lucky to have a babysitter come up for Bronson so we could enjoy the other two a little more. We ate at Baja Catina it was mighty tasty. As soon as we were done we went to the lift that takes you up to the slide it was so beautiful and perfect weather on the way up. The kids had so much fun doing both. Kennadee went with Nick because she can't ever get enough speed and Ryker stayed with mom because we are fine going slow.

On the last day of the camp they have all the dancers get together and show everyone the dances they learned. I was so proud of Kennadee she worked really had in those three days.

At the end of their age group of about 50 danc ers they gave away 3 scholarships and Kennadee WON..She was so cute I missed taking a picture of her taking a curtsy she had no idea what she had won it was cute. She still has to ask me what a "scholarship" is. I think it means more to me than her because she gets to attend the winter dance attack for FREE!

I am so lucky to know cami's mom and dad from High school. They both are amazing people and come from incredible families. (Pats sister own's the store next to my bountiful store) so I get to see Cami's mom and grandma quite often still. This family was truly tested a few years ago and is being test again today.It breaks my heart to hear what this little girl has gone through and will go through over the next 3 years but she can and will do it. Although things look VERY PROMISING for Cami. Its still a huge trail to be going through. Please pray for this cute girl.

I did my first sprint distance triathlon. A few things to remember for next time.

1. If your googles break before you get in the water its a bad thing.
2. Learn how to swim.
3. Train more...Here and there training doesn't work as well..

I was very happy that I finished at least that was my goal. I was the last person in the pool and the last person out but that's okay I was happy with my time. I have somethings to work on it can only get better, much better.

I wish I had a picture but I don't. I sucker my mom into all these events with me I'm to big of a chicken to do it by myself. She is absolutely amazing. I am so lucky to have such a great person to look up to and teach me new things everyday.

Utah Valley 5K

Team bandanna's okay we were tryig to keep our ears warm it was cold.

I am working on improving my 5k time...at least that's what I like to call it. I really enjoyed the first novice triathlon I did so I signed up for a sprint one in two weeks. So I signed up for the Utah Valley 5k because I knew Chelsea and Eni and baby Matini were signed up.

Then I found out that (L-R)Chantelle, Tiffany, Ryan and baby paige were doing it also. I loved that we all got to meet up for a second at the starting line.

Everyone did great and finished! I was hoping to beet my last 5k time which was a few weeks ago of 28:40 and I did coming in at 27:51.
Even though it was raining hard on my way down the weather was great a little cold with some puddles but it was perfect. I can't wait to do my next triathlon in 2 weeks.

Red Fish Lake

Nick's mom planned for all of us to get together the first weekend of June to camp....Camping with kids equals cabins. After we survived the 6 hour drive in Nick's truck we made it. The kids were great. I thought it would be rough not having the TV for them to watch but they did great. Bronson especially was fantastic. It was beautiful , we stayed right on the river in cute little studio cabins. I was able to run a few days, five miles passes by when you have scenery as beautiful as it was. Bronson was a great kettle bell.

The boys got up at 5am everyday and went fishing the last day they came home with this little thing. 24 pounds and 40 inches long!! It took Eni 45 min. to real this sucker in and all three of them to get it on the boat.

We found a stock pond not to far from our cabin and so the kids could fish all day long. They caught until they were tired.

The kids loved the animals everywhere. There was a heard of 20+ elk that sat on the hill behind where we stayed.
We even saw a baby black bear. He was so cute but I'm glad there was a river between us because mom couldn't have been to far. Its amazing at the beauty in Stanley. It was so nice to get away.

Nicks mom always had something planned for the kids. One of the crafts they loved was painting their own shirts. I was proud of my self I let the control freak in me go and let them do their own thing. They were so proud of the creations can't you tell. I do have to admit. When Ryker walked into the gym the other day wearing it I just about died. We have agreed its a great shirt to wear camping. So it will get good use in a few week. Until then they will look great in their closets.

Memorial Weekend

As if we didn't just get back from Vegas last weekend we headed off to Emery this weekend. Bronson loved his first camping and four wheeling trip. It was so much fun riding, talking, running in sandy gravel, and riding bikes that are missing half of their gears....okay that part was not. Best all Ryker learning how to ride a two wheeler.

We loved picking as much asparagus as we could find. We also made ice cream in a bag the kids liked it I loved it! According to the hubby's for a lame idea it tasted okay.

If it wasn't for my amazing dad we would never be able to go do all these fun things. I don't think we can ever thank him enough.

RUN WALK ROLL

I'm so lucky to know this darling little boy. Not only were his mommy and daddy in our ward in WX. One of Nicks best friends growing up was his nurse when he was at Primary's. They refer to him as handsome rob, we like to call him uncle Robby! I went and did the BIAU (Brain Injury Association of Utah) 5k today in honor of him. It amazes me daily what he had to do to fight to stay here with up. I also set a 5k pr 28:40. This was only the second 5k I have ever done, it was 11th overall so I was happy with that. It might sound slow to some but 5 months ago I couldn't run a mile without stopping to walk.

It was also Lincoln and Chris Anne's first 5k. I'm rubbing off on my family a little;)

Kennadee had a little bike accident with uncle Jackson. Growing up I remember people saying a bike is made for one that's why it has one seat so you shouldn't ride with two people on it. I never had to find out why a bike is made for one. Sadly kennadee learned why. I seriously thought it was broken when it looked like this within 5 min. of crashing.

Nick turned 30 this year so we decided we needed to do something fun. Well when you have 3 kids and want to do something fun...Where do you end up you ask? DISNEYLAND. Yes I know we have been to a Disney park at least once several times twice a year for the last 5 or so years but its the funnest to see your kids reaction every time. Its always different. The kids loved eating a turkey leg, Ariels Grato and not having a bedtime. It was great to get away!

Getting there was the hard part. We are do lucky my mom works for Jet Blue we tried flying standby needless to say after trying to get on 4 different flights we got in the car and decided to drive. About half way to St. George I came up with a great idea to fly out of Vegas. Lucky us it worked we only had to drive half of what we were planning. Thanks again mom we are do lucky to have the hook up!

Aren't these two just darling! We couldn't find a sitter for the kids for the wedding so I was able to wait outside with them it was such a beautiful day. Considering the night of there wedding dinner it was raining Ice and the tree branches were frozen with icicles sideways!

It was conference so they never actually even wore there outfits, but we did get to go to a wedding two days later so it was only appropriate they wore their outfits there. We did however have a fun Easter egg hunt in grandma's basement. they kids loved it. We finally got smart and color coded all the eggs everyone ended up having to just find their own color and then there was no tears over not getting something someone else did;)

Kennadee's school likes us to bring healthy treats for things. I decided that we would do goldfish carrotts. The kids really enjoyed them. (I know goldfish aren't healthy but in comparison to Jelley beans it counts...right?)

Coloring Easter Eggs

The kids had a blast coloring Easter eggs this year all two dozen. Its fun but sad to see your kids get older and see things in a new light they My mom made dinner and I made vanilla cupcakes they were so tasty, don't believe me ask Bronson.

All rounds of medicine are done and we are good to go, right? Haha......In my dreams. Ryker has a rash from head to toe. They think its an allergic reaction to his medicine he was on. It can happen up to two week after finishing it, so they say. The poor kid is so used to the Dr. office he just walks in walks to the scale, stands at the height stick and walks in the room and lays on the bed. Hopefully of few days of itchy rash and some Zyrtec and we are good as new.

Bronson didn't love his cereal the first time a few weeks ago and now that we are over all our sickies at our house we thought we would give it a try again. He did better but really didn't care for it. They kids were eating strawberries so I put one in this cool Binky type thing they can suck on along with the rest of the rice cereal and he loved it he started smacking his lips for more. I didn't give him more since he needs to eat his cereal of veggies before fruits.....But it looks like he will be like his brother and sister and love his strawberries. I can't believe he feed the whole thing to himself he is getting really good at holding toys and putting anything in his mouth he can.

I am so lucky that I was able to host a shower for this awesome girl. Nicks cousin Jordan is getting married April 6th to an amazing over the top gal. I have never meet such a sweet girl in my life. Here a few pictures from the night.

For some reason I'm really good at taking pictures of food. I think its because I enjoy eating it so much. The mock cafe rio salads were a hit. We all really enjoyed the chocolate fountain.

As a group we decided to do a group gift so we all went in on a Kitchen Aid Mixer, and all the fixins' to make her first batch of cookies. We hope Jony enjoys it. I know I would!

Little Blue Pill

The boy are doing much better now that they have been treated properly. We were advised that since Ryker needed to be on a special prescription that we need to break the capsule of the little blue pill and mix it up with pudding or yogurt because it taste nasty. well it only took two pills for him to realize if mom is feeding something to me I'm not eating it because its NASTY. So Nick decided he was big enough he could just swallow it and not choke. I thought he was CRAZY! Sure enough he did just fine and thought he was so cool.

We took Ryker to Instacare on Tuesday when he got really sick. The Dr. at the time thought he had pneumonia and later determined that he did not and sent us home. By following up with my Dr. we found out the x-rays were read wrong and sure enough he did have it. So when Instacare called to tell me that a radiologist read his x-rays and said it is pneumonia and to make sure to finish the full course of the antibiotic I just about lost it. (okay I know I should have been nice but the lack of sleep and frustration that my kids were getting sick this didn't make momma happy) I let the girl know that the Dr. didn't prescribe anything and the Dr. said it was not pneumonia...I then told her we ended up at Primary yesterday because of how sick the two were and that I was really disappointed and that I will finish the treatment plan given at Primary's. Then the girl goes on to give me a spill on how she needs to know what the treatment plan was so she could get the information to the Dr......I had the are you kidding me moment again! So its 9pm kids are tired and I'm having to dig though all the different medicines to tell this girl what we are doing so the Dr. screwed up could know. Ugh! Needless to say I wasn't greatful for that follow up call I was really annoyed.

So Ryker and Bronson have both been sick and I just don't know what to do. I feel like every time I take them to the Dr. or instacare I just get told you are paranoid go home and have them rest. I wanted to call the Dr. Wednesday but she is out of the office then. I thought I will call her in the morning if they are still this sick.Well by Thursday I was sick of it. I called the Dr. to see if I was crazy she was out of the office sick. Are you kidding me! Okay they probably just have colds relax. Friday morning these two are sicker than ever and I need some sleep...Am I the one going crazy. So I leave a message for the Dr. to call me I'm not taking them in for them to tell me I am crazy but at the same time I know there is something wrong. What am I supposed to do.
Kennadee called a friend to go play its been a rough week I don't blame the girl for wanting to get out, as we are walking out the door finally the nurse calls me back and says the Dr. review Rykers Chest x-rays and he has pneumonia and has had for the last few days that's why he isn't getting better. So the chest x-rays they took on Tuesday were read wrong and he has been so sick. She advised me that Bronson most likely has RSV since Ryker has pneumonia so off to Primary Children's we went. Poor Kennadee was a trooper she had to cancel her play date and go to Grandma's (she loves grandma's don't get me wrong but she was so excited to play with her friend). They were waiting for us when we got there so we didn't have to wait long. They got up all set up and had a million people asking questions, listening to their lungs, taking x-rays Bronson getting a suction treatment and a catheter (oh that was fun) and much more after several hours and lots of string cheese, and crackers. Sure enough.
patient A (Ryker): Pneumonia, and double ear infections....
patient B (Bronson): RV, bronchitis, and double ear infections....
Ryker is allergic to the antibiotics they would normally prescribe so it took a while to find out what they could put him on for his age. Once we figured that out we were on our way.

Sick, sick, sick

We droped Kennadee off at dance today and decided that we would just run to a couple stores. Our last stop was Tj. Maxx ryker wanted to stay in the car and started melting down that I wouldn't let him. So I drug him in plopped him in the cart and started shopping. Why is it when your kids get sick you think they are fine to only find out they aren't..... So about 10 min. into our shopping ryker feel asleep and soon after started burning up. So I hurried checked out headed home to get him some medicine. Picked kennadee up from dance and she went to a friends house to play. We cam back home and he went back down for a nap again hehad a fever of 105 I kept checking him and after an hour it was only at 103. I had already given him twice as much as it recommend and no sign of improvement. It was scary he woke up and couldn't walk to the bathroom he kept falling over, he could hardly hold his head up he just didn't feel good. Kennadee went was at a friends house, and so I dropped Bronson off to my mom. So after we thought we just had an ear infection yesterday we ended up in instacare by the time we got there he fever was 105.4. They gave him Tylenol and lots of it and finally got it down. Ryker was a trooper while they checked him out.

After chest x-rays and 4+ hours the Dr. said it was just a bug and to bring him back if he gets worse. So now I just feel like a crazy over reacting mom.

Sick, Sick

There is nothing worse than getting woken up at 3am by a 3 year old screaming that their ear hurts. There is nothing you can do but crawl in bed with them and call the Dr. as soon as the office opens. So that what we did. Sure enough Ryker had an ear infection. Hopefully a week of medicine and we will be good to go.

Spring is in the air

Ryker got a scooter for christmas along with a sweet helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads all with spiderman on them. He discovered it in the top of his closet a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to get it out. It finally got warm enough so he loaded up on all his gear and he was off to ride his scooter for the first time. He loved it! It was a little cold hence the sweet "moon boots" pooh bear rocks!

(I wish you could see this whole blanket it deserves a post in itself. Nick Aunt is amazing at making quilts and sent this to baby B when he was born. It has the cutest monsters. I wish you could see the fun chinelles and minky it has on it, and not to mention all the quilting detail was done by hand.)

Bronson loved his first walk in the stroller he was smiling the whole time until he got cold because it started to get windy. Oh how I have missed the sun please come back again soon.

Bronson's blessing day was great we were able to spend it with 150 friends and family. What a greater day to have a blessing then the day of V-day, a missionary farewell and his Uncle Jackson's missionary homecomming.

Bronson is growing like a weed, he acts as if he is always hungry we thought we would try some rice cereal to see if that helped him go longer than eating every 2 hours. Well needless to say he could have cared less about the food and wanted his bottle back. Better luck next time.

Sweetheart 5K

Today the rec. center had a 5k you could run with your sweetheart so I did. I ran with my workout sweetheart that I was able to run a 5k with today. Thanks mom for being my workout buddy. Its great to know I get to see my mom almost everymorning to workout. She did awesome I have to brang and say she placed 8th in her age group (that was far from last place). Way to go mom!

Strep

It all started with Kennadee she kept saying her tummy hurt but acted fine. Me being the great my I am sent her off to school. When I went to pick her up only 3 hours later her teacher mentioned kennadee wasn't herself today. She hoped in the car we came home for lunch and she acted just dandy. She was so excited she got a new outfit for dance because it was close to Valentines day. Kennadee goes to dance her teacher says she did great today and is learning really well. We take her friend home we carpool with and head home. Once we got home Kenn laid down she has had a long do. So I still go on with our daily Tuesday. She falls asleep and after about 30 min. I realize she has a fever the poor girl is pink as can be so I woke her up and gave her some Motrin. Well her fever came down a little but not much so off to instacare we go. Sure enough after few exams Kennadee has strep. I learned that kids don't normally complain at this age of their throat hurting the complain about a tummy ache. Well thats good to know for next time. Sorry to all the kids I exposed to strep....shhh this can be our little secret.

This is the start of a new tradition the Naughty or Nice Log. It was fun we did it with a 2x4 (considering we already cut down our own Christmas tree out of the front yard....see video) it was fun you light your own candle (Jacksons was lit by proxy..aka: mom) then we all cheered on our candle (yes we really did) the last to go out has been Nice the first was naughty.

Nick won the Naughty and Jackson and Mom tied for Nice...

We decided to make a gingerbread house well that's about as far as we got with that because Santa's Elves had made a special delivery and brought the kids some jammie's. The thought that it was time for bed so we didn't stop them. Grandpa read them his favorite story "twas the night before Christmas"

We can't wait every year for this party. We just don't get to see family enough. This year Jim and Kristen hosted the party at their home which is always fun. The kids had so much fun playing all the games Kristen Planned. The pizza, treats, salads and pop were so tasty. The adults had a little to much fun playing dodge ball in the B-ball room. They had a fun game where you got a necklace and if you said the word"Christmas" you had to give your necklace to the person who got you to say it. The kids loved it.

The kids got some fun prizes can you tell they both had better things to do then smile for a picture.

Last night we went to temple square to listen to the Bountiful High Choir sing. It was great! I looked around and there were several kids in the chapel and you would have never known it was so quite....(I know my kids and quite don't go together) It was fun to see the lights and hurry home, it was a little chilly for Bronson so we didn't stay to long. Ryker and Kennadee really enjoyed throwing snowballs at daddy.

I am so lucky to have such a great mom. She is an incredible example of who I want to be when I grow up;) I have never meet someone who is so giving and incredibly talented.(she can do anything. Plumbing, tile, decorate, cook, if you give her the chalange she will do it!)

I learn from her everyday (that's because we call each other at least 5 times a day, even if its about butter)

My mom had taught me how to have a lot of patience with Ryker, trust me you need it. I think the thing that I admire most is when we were growing up it didn't matter what she was going through she was always there for you and never said she was to busy even if she was. When my mom would get mad she would NEVER yell, she would get quite I think that was scarier than if she were to ever yell. You just new you were in trouble when mom went quite.

My mom is an amazing grandma I'm pretty sure my kids like her more than me... Grandma is always at everything for her babies and is always calling to say hi, tell them she loves them and lets them come over when she is working and draw pictures. Ryker has got the, "hello. thank you for calling Jet Blue!" down its great.

I could never say enough about this woman she is truly amazing words cant describe!

Thanks for sharing your birthday with us even if all we did was feed you!

The Square Christmas

The new square @ 2600 had a some Chirstmas fun tonight. All the stores had food, treats, hot coco and cider.

They even had a carriage ride for kids, and most important Santa! Kennadee and Ryker loved the horses they thought it was fun. They both were so excited to see Santa and ask him for some special gifts they would like from his elves.....

Ryker is a "circus' most the time the kids is full speed always. I though with how active he is and how much he loves animals, balloons, and a "Midnight Magic Martin' magic show we couldn't go wrong. Winter birthday parties are hard to do but I thought it turned out pretty well considering it was snowing outside and having a 4 week old baby. I found the cutest printable party from ETSY. It was great all I had to do was print, and make one trip to Zurchers and called it good.

Nativity

We were so "lucky" to be part of the Ward Christmas Party. As everyone entered to party we were the "nativity" We all felt like a monkey in a cage but it was fun.

The little "wiseman" couldn't get enough of "baby Jesus" and the cutest "little angel" you have ever seen.

Glow Worm

(day one almost an hour of crying and finally, this..)

Monday Bronson had to get "billy lights" since is Jaundice was not improving on his own. Day 1-4 ment screaming if he was in there. I did find if I put him in there on his tummy and he was already asleep he would nap.(disclamer: I know he is supposed to sleep on his back, but he can hold his head up really well and I make him take his binky if he is on his tummy)

This is day 5 only lasted 15 min. but hey I will take that awake and under the lights! Wahoo!
